A couple of days ago, the following haiku challenge was thrown out on twitter. Use ‘big fracking disaster’ in a monostitch/haiku
Sounded easy enough. Then I got the sillies.
Coffee in my cup / coffee on my desk / big frackin’ disaster

Snow whispers,
falls like ticker tape,
birds sing.
Fields of stories,
Hints engraved in stone.
Some remembered,
Some tended,
Hushed congregants.
Old squirrels nest, resting
in the Sycamore’s arms,
Waiting for spring.
Old rain mirrors
Middays sun
Framed by muddy footprints
Encouraging sunlight
Bleeds through the window
Searching for a smile.
Radio off on the drive to work,
Inner thoughts have room to move.
Shadows,
Monochrome perspective,
Shifting,
Me a storm chaser.
We stare at our phones
Searching for connection.
Being very careful
With the on/off switch.
Watched clock of downloading music,
Impatience visualized.
